The human immune system comprises two parts; the acquired and the innate. 1,3/1,6 beta glucan contained in Pharmanord's Bio Glucan Plus acts as a primer for the innate immune system. This serves as the body’s first line of defence against infectious organisms, while the acquired immunity develops antibodies through immunisation or infection, which is the body's second line of defence. 1,3/1,6 beta glucan provides a stimulus to activate cells of the innate immune system against infectious organisms.
