We run a Stop Smoking Service at Kennedy’s Pharmacy which offers all the help and support you need to stop smoking. Our pharmacists and staff are specially trained to help you with your decision to kick the habit for good.
How does it work?
Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)
NRT comes in many different forms including patches and gum and it is important that the right option is chosen to suit your individual need.
At Kennedy’s, we run a free 12 week programme to help you quit.
- A first consultation with the pharmacist or specially trained advisor which takes about 15 minutes. During this session you agree a quit date and work out what the best way forward is for you.
- A weekly follow-up for up to 12 weeks to pick up your supply of NRT and to discuss your progress.
Providing you with extra tips, tactics or advice you may need which include; deciding to quit with a friend, telling family and friends so they can be supportive, treating yourself with the money you’re saving.
How do I book the service and how much will it cost?
You can book your initial consultation by telephoning either of our pharmacies to make an appointment. The service is FREE and is available to all smokers who are motivated to quit and who are not currently enrolled with any other smoking cessation service.
Can I use this service indefinitely?
No, this is a 12 week programme. However to remain on the programme for 12 weeks, you must have completely stopped smoking at 4 weeks.
Can I register for the programme as often as I like?
You can re-register for the programme, but it must be at least 6 months from when you last participated and you must show a clear determination and motivation to quit.
