What is Lanolin?
Lanolin is a natural wax derived from wool, produced by sheep to protect their skin and fleece from infection and the elements. It is structurally very similar to lipids found within our skin, helping maintain the skin barrier. It works as an excellent moisturiser and emollient by forming a protective layer that prevents moisture loss. Lanolin is safely harvested from wool without harming the animal.
What does HPA stand for?
HPA stands for Highly Purified Anhydrous. Our lanolin undergoes a unique refining process to achieve exceptional purity, exceeding cosmetic and pharmaceutical standards (European Pharmacopoeia and USP). The anhydrous nature means it contains no water, resulting in a highly refined product trusted by breastfeeding mums worldwide for nearly 40 years.
