1. Is Metanium Antifungal?

Metanium is primarily known as a brand that produces skincare products, particularly for babies. While Metanium does offer a range of products designed to treat and prevent nappy rash, it is not specifically marketed as an antifungal treatment.

It is recommended to research on dedicated anti fungal treatments for babies. If you have specific concerns about fungal infections, it's best to consult with a healthcare professional for appropriate treatment recommendations.

2. Can You Use Metanium on a Newborn?

Metanium is suitable for treating your baby's nappy rash symptoms right from birth. Its fragrance-free formula and absence of lanolin make it suitable for vegan households as well. However, it's important to avoid using this medicine if your child has shown any allergic reactions to any of the ingredients in Metaniu cream before.

3. Can You Use Metanium On Broken Skin?

Avoid using this product if you or your child have an allergy to any of the listed ingredients, or if the skin is broken, severely cracked, infected, or bleeding. Apply daily at each diaper change on clean, dry skin, using clean, dry hands.

4. Is Metanium Good For Nappy Rash?

Metanium is widely regarded as effective for treating nappy rash. Its formulation helps soothe and protect the skin, making it a popular choice for many parents. However, individual results may vary, so it's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice on treating your baby's nappy rash.

5. Is Metanium Antiseptic?

Yes, Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment contains active ingredients like titanium dioxide, titanium peroxide, and titanium salicytate, which possess protective and antiseptic properties. These ingredients help alleviate itching and chafing, shield the skin from water-soluble irritants, and prevent water loss from the outer skin.

6. Can Metanium Be Used on Face?

No, Metanium is not intended to be used on the face. This product is specifically formulated to treat nappy rash and should only be applied to the affected areas on the baby's bottom. Using it on the face can lead to irritation or other adverse reactions.

7. Can Adults Use Metanium Cream?

No, adults should not use Metanium cream. The product is specifically formulated for treating nappy rash in babies, and its usage for adults is not recommended. The patient information leaflet does not provide guidance for using Metanium cream on adults, and its intended purpose is solely for the treatment of nappy rash in infants.

8. Can You Use Metanium on Tattoos?

No, Metanium should not be used on tattoos. It is specifically formulated for the treatment of nappy rash in babies and is not intended for use on tattoos. Using Metanium on tattoos can lead to adverse reactions and may interfere with the healing process of the tattoo. It's best to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your tattoo artist or consult a healthcare professional for appropriate tattoo care products.

9. What Age Can You Use Metanium?

Metanium is typically safe to use from birth onwards. It's specifically formulated to treat nappy rash in babies, so it's suitable for infants and children. However, as with any skincare product, it's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns or if your baby has particularly sensitive skin.

10. How to Use Metanium?

  • After removing soiled nappy, clean and wash the affected area, drying with a soft towel.
  • Wash your hands and dab a small amount (pea size) of the ointment over the sore area with your fingertip.
  • Squeeze the tube very gently to keep it in good condition. This way you’ll also save more product!
  • Repeat at each nappy change to treat nappy rash.
  • Keep the tube nozzle clean of residue product to ensure the cap can be closed tightly.

11. Can You Wash Off Metanium?

Metanium does not contain anything which can dye clothes as such and so the stains will come out. The yellow colour is due to pigments which are held in place by the paraffin oil/wax matrix. If this is removed then the pigment will wash off as well. In order to remove the grease you could either use a proprietary stain remover or alternatively vigorously rub neat washing up liquid into the stained area. Leave it to soak for an hour or so then launder as normal.

If some product ends up on your favourite clothes, just wash it off with dishwashing liquid to get rid of any unwanted stains.

If it gets under your fingernails, then just grab a few extra wipes.
